Level 3 Business Partner Program Announces New Sales Promotion ProgramAs of April 1, 2008, we are launching a sales promotion to our Indirect Sales Channel to take advantage of the large market opportunity for products that we can sell and install quickly and easily.  The program is:

*      Focused on products with widespread, known demand

*      Focused on products our factory is in a position to support

*      Focused on locations on/near our network

The goal of the promotion is to drive near-term sales and installs in addition to making the process easier for you to quote and sell these products.

Listed below are the list of the focused products and details for the promotion.

The program is part of an ongoing effort to help you target the right customers in the right places with the right products.  Promotional pricing applies to both on-net and a targeted list of near-net buildings across markets.  Included in the Master on-net building list are 6,253 total buildings with over 22,000 total tenants and the prioritized near-net list includes 56 markets with 50-100 buildings per market.

To enable you to sell the promotional products, we will provide you with additional tools to include:  price lists, focused building list and HSIP POP location list. These documents are located on the Business Partner Portal under the Marketing tab in the ‘Q208 Sales Promotion” section.

OPERATIONS UPDATE

The Service Management Center for any support issues is now the "Technical Support Center". As of March 3, 2008, the new organization will replace the previous business unit specific service organizations and will be aligned under Global Network Services.

What does this mean to our partners?

  • Reduction of toll-free numbers from 350 to 1, now support can be accessed via one toll-free number: 1-877-4LEVEL3

  • Single point of entry for escalation calls via Tier 1

  • Ticket queues reduced from 41 to 19

  • Workgroups reduced from 9 to 3

In addition:

  • In line with industry best practices, we've organized technicians into areas of specialty for faster issue resolution.

  • We've built effectiveness tracking capabilities into our processes and systems, for continual process improvement

  • With these improvements, all customers will receive:

    • 24 X 7 support

    • Industry standard SLAs for ticket resolution

    • Clearly defined escalation path

Expect to see on-going service enhancements:

  • It is our goal to ensure that all customers have access to consistent, high-quality services through a clear resolution path

  • Throughout 2008, we'll continue to unify and simplify processes, systems, documentation and tools

  • We expect that our significant internal operational efficiencies will translate into similar positive benefits for our customers: faster response to service management issues.

INCENTIVES AND PROMOTIONS

Sales Incentive

The Business Partner Program launched the "Nothing but Net" SPIF focused on driving incremental sales to Level 3 "on-net" buildings and increasing fiber builds to the Level 3 network. Eligible services include: Private Lines, Waves, Metro Ethernet Private Line, DIA, HSIP and MPLS. Contracts must be at least $2,500 in MRR and 24 months in length. The promotion runs from February 1-June 30, 2008.

New Sales Contest

The Level 3 Business Partner Program is announcing a new sales contest which launched on April 1, 2008. The "Sweet 16" sales contest is open to all business partners and the top "16" partners- top 4 Master Agents, top 4 Sub-Agents and top 8 Direct Agent Business Partners- will earn a "sweet" reward of a $1000 personalized event for their team. The sales contest runs from April 1-June 30, 2008 and rewards partners for selling our "sweet spot" services including: HSIP, Intercity and Metro Wavelength (DS3 and above), Ethernet Private Line, Dedicated Internet Access (DS3 and above), IP VPN, VPLS, Ethernet VPN & VoIP IA. Please contact your PSM with any questions.

TRAINING UPDATE

Business Partner University 

  • The Q1 training incentive ended on March 31, 2008. We will announce in the next monthly newsletter which partners qualified for the training incentives in the first quarter. 

  • In April, we will be adding a new module added to the Business Partner University on Integrated Access (IA), which will round out our "sweet spot" services offerings.

PARTNER TOOLS

Within the Business Partner Portal (BPP), Level 3 launched a new and improved version of Masterstream, our online quoting tool, to all partners on April 1, 2008.  Login credentials will be sent to each partner's delegated administrator.

The updated tool includes: 

  • More markets and greater footprint 

  • Quick links to the Business Partner Portal and our On-ramp Tool 

  • Quoting on: 

    • Private Line: On and Off-Net, DS1-OC48 

    • DIA: On and Off-Net, DS1-OC48 

    • PRI 

    • IA 

  • Coming Soon: Dedicated LD (dedicated facility & usage) and Ethernet DIA
